I'm a Kent-based painter/object maker with a ‘Nucleus Arts’ studio located in the historic town of Rochester.
Having previously worked in multimedia including sculpture, digital art and installation, more recently, I have been using the medium of oil paint to explore the duality between permanence and transience in our world. Painting genres have included landscape, still life and portraiture. My last project mostly focussed upon capturing ephemeral moments within local landscapes. However, in my current project, I have switched back to still life - incorporating items of clothing that depict nature within the fabrics’ motifs/patterns, further inviting the viewer to reflect upon the beauty of the 'transient yet enduring' nature of the world around us.
